Leigh v Hornets is previewed by Stan Townsend.
Championship contenders Leigh lock horns with title rivals Rochdale in what could well be billed the Northern Ford Premiership match of the season at Hilton Park.
And the battle for supremacy could well be won and lost in the front row where both clubs unleash their new prop forward signings.
The Centurions are ready to unveil ex-St Helens front row forward Vila Matautia for his long-waited club debut, while Hornets have ex-Halifax Blue Sox prop Paul Davidson in the starting blocks for his first game.
Centurions boss Paul Terzis, still seething over the disappointment of the abandoned match at Hull KR last week, commented: "Something has got to give and one unbeaten record will go that's for sure.
"We will just have to make sure that we are not on the losing side,'' he said.
Besides the planned debut of Matautia, Leigh bring Liam Bretherton and Paul Anderson into their squad, while winger Chris Irwin and second row forward Simon Baldwin look set to miss the game through injury.
Rochdale are also boosted by the return of attacking fullback Paul Owen for his first full game following a hand injury, while ex-Widnes and Dewsbury Rams forward Matt Long is available again after missing the Hull KR victory.
Hornets currently have the longest winning sequence in the NFP with 12 successive victories (not including last season's play-off games), so they have a proud record to defend.
"We didn't do very well at Leigh last season, but I think we will put on a better show this time,'' was Hornets coach Martin Hall's forecast.
