Prohibition order lifted 19/12/2001 Bugsy
Tameside Council has lifted a prohibition order imposed three weeks ago on Ashton united's Hurst Cross ground.

Relevant details for fans will be announced tomorrow – after another round of talks involving council officials and Roughyeds chairman Christopher Hamilton

Oldham's new signing Tommy Hodgkinson will be checked out by Oldham’s medical staff tonight before coach Mike Ford names his squad for Sunday’s Christmas derby.

“We will be checking on Hodgkinson in the hope that he can be included in the 17,” said Ford, who was satisfied with his team’s performance at Hull KR last Sunday, despite a 26–10 loss.

Loose-forward Hodgkinson, a close season signing from Widnes, was impressive in the pre-season warm-up win at Leigh before suffering concussion at Spotland in the Law Cup defeat by Hornets.

He was expected to be fit for the first NFP game at Hull KR, but he pulled out 48 hours before the match because he was still suffering from headaches.

Added Ford: “If we can reproduce our Craven Park performance we won’t go far wrong.

“Hornets are a strong side and they’ve spent a lot of money. They always seem to raise their game against us, so we can expect a tough match.”

Ford also expects to have available the 17 players who went to Humberside last Sunday – plus Hodgkinson.
