Hornets have signed "controversial" forward Paul Davidson from Halifax Blue Sox. He was at today's 26-14 victory over Batley.
His Super League career has been blighted by disciplinary lapses.
He faced an uncertain future after being handed a five-match suspension at the end of last season for a high tackle.
Davidson has played for Widnes, Oldham, St Helens and London Broncos in addition to Halifax.
He made only six starts for the Broncos in the 2000 season after serving three separate suspensions and was sent off in successive matches for Halifax last August.
Martin Hall said: "He has trained well over the last couple of weeks and is a major boost to the team ahead of what we expect to be a very successful season."
RochdaleHornets.com say "We're looking forward so let's not dwell on the past and hope that Paul shows everyone his true potential on the playing field."
