GOTCHA - AGAIN!
Sun hack takes the huff, but fails to get the point!

IT'S TRUE! For all their big-mouthing bravado, you can upset a Sun journalist.
Only 24 hours after posting our response to Phil Thomas' ill-informed article in the nation's favourite comic, the man himself wrote to us to defend his article.

He continues to show his IGNORANCE of Rugby League by failing to appreciate the true market value of Great Britain's U21 Captain.

He shows his IGNORANCE of Rochdale Hornets by accusing us of stopping talented players bettering their careers.

But mostly he's just a bit UPSET that we called him a rubbish journalist. Here at your super soaraway rochdalehornets.com we say 'If you can't take it, don't dish it out'.

Thomas' full reply appears below. If you want to let him know what you think, you can e-mail him on phil.thomas@the-sun.co.uk. He'd love to hear from you I'm sure.

" Apologies for replying by e-mail, but my crayons are a little blunt - must be all that writing about sports which are so alien to me. Clearly you misunderstood the point of my article on Danny Sculthorpe. What I was trying to get across was the fact that Danny is currently being chased by four of last season's leading six Super League clubs, who are willing to pay him a contract roughly seven times his current deal.

Hornets may presently pay him a fair whack, in your opinion, but as I see it if they cannot afford to increase his wages, yet place a ludicrously high figure on his head, they are stopping one of the game's brightest prospects from achieving his full potential.
I trust this clarifies the point I was trying to convey.

Please do not hesitate to contact me again if you misunderstand something I have written about.

Incidentally, I have worked in journalism for almost 20 years, progressing through the various stages upwards from local newspapers - where I gained leading marks in the required examinations - to The Sun, where I have worked for the past six years.

I can only assume you achieved similar journalistic qualifications for your role as co-editor, explaining your willingness to run down my own professional capabilities."
