Sheffield Eagles v Rochdale Hornets – live on Sky Sports
Sheffield Eagles’ boss Mark Aston is monitoring the fitness of Ged Corcoran (dislocated thumb) ahead of Thursday’s live televised Co-operative National League One clash with Rochdale HornetsSky Sports will show the whole game when they make their first trip to the Eagles since their Super League days.
Aston’s side lost 56-10 against Widnes on Sunday but he was happy with plenty of aspects of his troops’ performance.
Aston said: “I was very pleased with our first 20 minutes and overall there were plenty of positives.”
Eagles’ quartet Richard Newlove (arm), Jack Howieson (knee), Neil Law (ankle) and Jon Aston (gout) all face late fitness tests.
Meanwhile, Hornets’ coach Darren Abram is demanding a big improvement from his side after they slumped to a 32-4 defeat at Leigh. Abram was unimpressed with his entire squad’s display.
He said: “I’ll be meeting with all of the players and I want some answers.
“It may be a good thing that we’re playing again so soon – we can maybe get some answers in the shape of performances on Thursday night.”
Abram will leave it as late as possible before deciding on his team in a bid to get over the bumps and bruises from last weekend.
