The Federation ShieldThe Federation Shield is an exciting new competition involving England, France,Samoa and Tonga.
It takes place across England and France in October and November. The competition itself kicks off on the 22 October 2006 at Headingley Carneige Stadium with a cracking double header of Tonga V Samoa followed by England V France.
The teams are using the competition as their building blocks to the 2008 World Cup. The Tongans and Samoans will be calling up their NRL and Super League Stars along with players from their own domestic competitions, and with the much improved French side (current European Champions) having the services of the Super League hardened Fakir, Rinaldi, Fellous and Elima ably coached by The Ice Man, John Monie the English boys will be up against it especially as the core of the English Sidewill be down under contesting this years Tri-Nations for Great Britain.
