The main matters at hand will be to get in all outstanding try sponsorship money and any money outstanding from the recent auction/quiz night.

The recent shareholders' meeting raised several issues and the meeting will also provide an opportunity for the Nest Egg to see how we can try and address some of them. One item arising from last night's meeting is that the club is intending to launch a completely new share issue, with shares being made available in blocks of at least £200 worth.

It's already been suggested that in future, rather than simply handing money to the club, buying shares on behalf of the Nest Egg would be a better way to 'donate' our money - that way the Nest Egg gets something substantial in return. Given the current state of the club's finances, a vote to release funds to purchase shares under the new scheme will be held at the meeting.

Obviously, we'd like complete buy-in from the membership before we progress. Our role in raising funds for the club is now even more critical than it was last year so if you can make it on Wednesday 12th, please be there.

Another issue raised last night was the formation of a fully fledged supporters' trust. Increasingly, supporters' trusts are having a greater say in football and rugby league clubs across the country (over 100 at last count). We'd have to form a legally recognised democratic co-operative company in which every member would have equal ownership and voting rights.

As such it would have the ability to own property/shares in its own right and could provide representation at board level if it wanted to.
