According to the Hull Daily Wail, Steve Linnane admits he’s got a tough decision or two to make before Sunday's crunch game. With every every player who played in the 38-24 beating of the Biffs fit and available, he’s got to consider whether a side that’s just 14 points better than Oldham is a good enough combination to upset Hornets.
Having brought hooker Paul Pickering and loose-forward Andy Smith back into the side last weekLinnane must now decide whether to tinker with his team.
He said: "The squad are all fit and like last week there will be a couple of tough decisions to make later on. However, there are still two training sessions to come, and I will not be naming a squad until later on in the week."
Linnane did, however praise ex-half-back, current water-boy and stand-in assistant coach Craig Murdock.
With appearances severely limited since the arrival of Paul Mansson Murdock is currently acting as assistant manager in the absence of whiplash victim Harvey Howard.
"He has taken training sessions, organised the messages and water carrying at matches...” said Linnane. And we’ve noticed! Despite his non playng role he actually spends more time in the field than Harvey Howard ever did!
