The Rochdale Observer gave full coverage to the Nest Egg donation.
HORNETS' NestEgg, the recently formed independent Supporters Association, handed over their first donation to the club before Sunday's match against Oldham.Hornets' chairman Ray Taylor was presented with a cheque for £1000 by NestEgg official Jim Stringer and NestEgg member Doug McEndoo.
Much of the money was raised by supporters who donated £100 each. Other fundraising efforts included auctions of Hornets' kit and memorabilia, raffles, and sponsoring of tries
The Association has so far raised in the region of £3,500 towards the cause and is constantly on the lookout for new members.
The Association is independent of the club and members vote on how the money will be used. It is an opportunity for the 'ordinary fan to become involved in the club.
Meetings are held regularly and anyone interested in finding out more is invited to attend. The message from NestEgg is "your club needs you."
