O'Reilly set to leave Hornets
The Club have confirmed that
the new sponsorship deal recently revealed
could well be the last announcement made by Liam O’Reilly in his current position at the Club. The 25 year old former Halifax Blue Sox man has tendered his resignation and will leave at the end of the month.
“I have greatly enjoyed my spell at Hornets. I am very sad to be leaving, but feel I have no option but to take this action. I do however, hope to continue consulting to the club on a part time basis at least until the end of the season. I would like to thank the fans for their superb support during my time, and wish this great club all the success it is so close to achieving. I feel I leave the club having developed a strong commercial and developmental infrastructure which will ensure off field success for the future.”
Chairman Ray Taylor added on behalf of the Club:
“Liam has generated some superb new income streams for the club and has developed a significant community profile for Hornets. The benefits of which are greatly appreciated, especially in a very difficult year financially for our division with the lack of TV money. We would like to thank him for his hard work and look forward to developing our professional relationship with him in a new capacity to drive forward the excellent work he has started.”
O’Reilly is believed to be pursuing a new business opportunity peripherally connected with sport.
