"It's always nice to win and we managed it for the second week running," he said. "The defence has been better in the last two games, and we conceded just one try today, which is pleasing.

"We still have work to do on attack but the defence, commitment and effort were first class. We lost here in the league so it's nice to come back and win."

He added: "It was close but it doesn't matter how you win them as long as you win them. But there's a lot of areas we can improve on and I'm sure we will do. We probably had four or five changes and everybody had a go, which was nice to see as well."
