Hornets Community Performing Arts Project Launches
National Cup Bid
As part of the drive to bring Rochdale Hornets and the local comunity
closer together, the club is providing a pre-match spectacular for Good
Friday's grudge match against the Pikeys from Ashton
Hornets will become only the second Rugby League Club to present the
highly acclaimed ‘Arena of Life’ programme - an all-dancing, all-singing
entertainment project involving over 100 young people from 5 secondary
schools in Rochdale.
‘Arena of Life’ has recently been performed at Newcastle Falcons RUFC,
Blackburn Rovers and Bradford Bulls - and Hornets break new ground bringing
the event to the NFP.
Students from Oulder Hill, Failinge, St. Cuthbert’s, Spring Hill
and Balderstone have been working closely with dance, media, singing
and cinematography professionals to produce what promises to be a great
show.
The project gives the students involved the chance to sing and dance
- as well as write and present a fly on the wall documentary of their
auditions, rehearsals and the big day itself. More importantly,
‘Arena of Life’ project gives the young people a chance to become aware
of and involved in Rochdale Hornets.
The entertainment starts at 2 o'clock.
