 Sunday's Coming - Censored!!!
We had an article here that basically outlined our opinion on Huddersfield Giants' fall from SuperLeague.
We admit - it was hard-hitting and didn't toe the Super League/RFL party line. As an independent supporters' site, we assumed we were entitled to our opinion.
In the name of good relations within our game, Rochdale Hornets have asked that we remove the article. Not wanting to offend or embarrass the people who generously help us out at the club, we have agreed.
The article contained two quotes from Huddersfield's Marketing and Media Manager Richard Thewlis which appeared in the Rugby League Express earlier this year. They were taken from a letter he wrote in defence of his club after they had come into criticism from other NFP supporters. That article was freely available for everyone to read.
We have been running this site for three years now. We've always been forthright, controversial - and unwavering in our love for our club and the honesty and integrity of our great game. We remain so, but on this occasion are driven by a particular 'request'.
Some might say that a large, profitable Yorkshire-based Rugby League club with arguably the best stadium in the NFP should be big enough to shrug off the ramblings of a small independent fans' website. But, of course, we wouldn't.
Sunday matters. Be there. We will. Onward Hornets Onward.
